AUSTIN (KXAN) — Calling all theatre nerds, musical lovers, and karaoke aficionados! Austin is getting ready to play host to a pop-up bar that’s essentially a “Broadway fan club.”
The Broadway Sing-Along Bar, presented by Bucket Listers, will take over Wanderlust Wine Co. on Shady Lane from June 6 to August 3. Bucket Listers is also behind the Malibu Barbie Cafe pop-up at Wanderlust’s downtown location.
The Broadway bar started in Los Angeles and will move to Austin for the summer.
“I kind of like to think of this as like a circus,” Keely O’Neal with Bucket Listers said. “You kind of put it on for a few months, and then you pack up and go to the next city.”
She added that, depending on what the event is, Bucket Listers puts it on in different cities.
“Like LA, we thought was perfect for Broadway, and Austin was perfect for Broadway as well. So we’re super excited to bring it down here,” O’Neal said.

The bar has nightly karaoke for fans to belt out their favorite hits from Broadway shows like Hamilton, Wicked, Les Misérables, and more. There will also be weekend, themed drag shows on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
When people enter the bar, they’ll be immersed in Broadway from every angle. There will be photo opportunities, themed cocktails, musical theatre-inspired décor, and more. Costumes are also highly encouraged.
So, if you missed a sing-along screening of Wicked earlier this year, this pop-up may be the place where you can finally defy gravity.
