Brawl between Renegades and Lions players breaks out at Doggett Ford Park

The Beaumont Renegades beat the Columbus Lions 56-45 when tensions on the field reportedly spilled over into an all out brawl.

BEAUMONT, Texas — A night of celebration for the Beaumont Renegades quickly devolved into one of chaos after large brawl ensued moments after the team secured a spot in the National Arena League championship.

The Beaumont Renegades beat the Columbus Lions 56-45 when tensions on the field reportedly spilled over into an all out brawl.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist Beaumont police with a brawl at Doggett Ford Park after the game.

Crystal Holmes with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says the fight did involve football players.

A 12News crew at the scene spoke to a Renegades player who says it was a fight between players on both teams.

Columbus players were allegedly “threatening to shoot” players on the Renegades and police were called.

It is currently unknown if any arrests were made or if any injuries were reported.
