Here are what experts recommend to find the best deals.
HOUSTON — Beyoncé is returning to Houston for two sold-out shows this weekend, with desperate fans facing ticket prices ranging from $175 to a staggering $7,000 for front-row seats on the resale market.
The superstar’s homecoming concerts have created what’s being called “the hottest ticket in town,” forcing fans to turn to resale platforms like Ticketmaster after the shows officially sold out. The cheapest resale tickets currently available are listed at $175, but prices skyrocket for premium seating.
The extreme pricing has even surprised industry professionals.
“It’s insane, it is. And I’m shocked at those prices, I really am,” said Kayla Ramsey with Houston Ticket Store. “That’s why most consumers now wait til the day or the week of to get a ticket because they think they’ll get a better deal and usually they can.”
Ramsey recommends that fans hold off on purchasing if they want better prices.
“Like this example here, if they wait a little longer, they’ll get a better deal,” she explained.
However, ticket brokers are warning buyers to exercise caution in their search for deals. Ramsey advises fans to steer clear of Craigslist and social media when hunting for tickets. Instead, she recommends using established sites where buyers can get a receipt, allowing them to dispute charges with their credit card company if they get ripped off.
The weekend shows mark a significant homecoming for the Houston-born artist, with ticket demand reflecting the city’s excitement to welcome back one of its most famous daughters.
