SAN ANTONIO — A Bexar County sheriff’s replacement was suspended, and a telecommunications professional was terminated for their actions in separate cases where a prisoner left the Bexar Court, technique documents obtained by TheTXLoop Investigates show.
Both occurrences occurred in 2024
In June 2024, Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies spent concerning 12 hours locating a man who got away wardship from the Bexar Court.
Pedro Andres Escamilla was in court for a hearing on charges of property and criminal trespassing.
Suspension records show Deputy Arnold Rogers learned Escamilla had a warrant, and put manacles on him, yet not behind Escamilla’s back as required. Records show Rogers additionally did not put leg cuffs on him.
BCSO claimed Escamilla was seen escaping from the courthouse along the River Stroll. They discovered him later that night near Interstate 35 and Cameron Street.
