Band tower collapses at Centennial High School, according to officials

“Several young people” were injured when the structure collapsed in Frisco, according to the school district.

FRISCO, Texas — “Several young people” were injured when a band tower collapsed, according to Frisco ISD.

The 30-foot-tall tower fell Thursday evening when three students were climbing on it, according to Frisco police.

Officers say all three students were transported to the hospital to treat their injuries.

In a statement, the school district said, “Our hearts are with these young people and their families during this difficult time, and we are keeping them in our thoughts.”

They continued, “Please keep all of these young people in your thoughts. While we know many in our community are concerned, due to student privacy, we cannot share details regarding the students or their conditions.”

Frisco ISD says their maintenance team will work to secure the area with safety fencing before dismantling the structure. They ask community members to avoid the area.
