Arlington, Texas: 1 killed in fatal crash, police said

Sayf Fadhel, 22, died after he was ejected from his car in a single-vehicle crash, officials said.

ARLINGTON, Texas — A 22-year-old man died after being ejected from his vehicle Saturday, Arlington police said. 

Officers responded around 7:40 p.m. Saturday to the 4300 block of Turner Warnell Road after multiple people reported seeing an overturned vehicle in the roadway with no driver in sight, according to a press release from the Arlington Police Department. 

When police arrived, they found the victim, Sayf Fadhel, lying in the driveway of a nearby residence, the release states. He was pronounced dead on the scene. 

Investigators found that Fadhel was driving a 2019 Ford Mustang westbound on Turner Warnell at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle, entered a drainage ditch, struck a tree, then re-entered the roadway and overturned, the release states. 

He was ejected from his vehicle and landed about 40 feet from the overturned vehicle, police said. 

Investigators believe Fadhel was not wearing a seatbelt, the release states. 

A witness told police Fadhel was attempting to pass another vehicle at the time of the crash, officials said.
