AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department on Monday identified a man who died after a crash on Guadalupe Street on Aug. 7.
Austin Police said his name was Phillip Weidner, 54. The crash occurred overnight at around 1:27 a.m. in the 7600 block of Guadalupe Street, just south of West Anderson Lane.
It was a single-vehicle crash, according to APD. Weidner was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but after a few days, he was pronounced dead, police said.
This crash is being investigated as Austin’s 61st deadly crash of the year, resulting in 65 deaths.
