AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department on Friday asked the public’s help in identifying the driver of a white minivan that was involved in a crash connected to the Target shooting on Monday that resulted in three people killed.
APD said it received video from a dash camera, depicting a Honda sedan being struck and spinning out on the flyover from Research Boulevard Northbound to the Mopac Expressway.
Immediately after, a Toyota 4-Runner, stolen by Ethan Nieneker, was seen colliding with another vehicle, believed to be a white Dodge Caravan or similar vehicle, according to a press release.
The police department said it is hoping to speak to the driver of the white minivan to determine whether any injuries occurred and to gather additional information about the incident. Additional charges may be pursued for the suspect as a result of the collision, according to APD.
If you recognize the vehicle or have information on the driver, APD asks you to contact the police department at 512-974-TIPS. You can also submit an anonymous tip through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers program website.
