Pickup truck hits sedan, kills 63-year-old pedestrian in north Austin

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A crash just after midnight Saturday killed a 63-year-old man in north Austin, according to an Austin Police Department press release issued Monday.

The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. on June 28 in the 13000 block of North I-35, on the northbound service road. A pickup truck “collided with a pedestrian, followed by a sedan,” APD said.

The pedestrian, Edward Walker, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drivers of the sedan and the truck remained at the scene, were not impaired and cooperated with officers, the release states. The release did not mention any charges or arrests related to this crash.

This is Austin’s 48th fatal crash and its 52nd death from a vehicle crash.
