A Dallas-based craft brewery hopes to find more fertile ground to grow to the east.
Manhattan Project Beer Co. aims to move into about 45,000 square feet of space at a 110,000-square-foot property at 2050 Jane St. in Mesquite.
Karl Sanford, co-founder and president at Manhattan Project, told the Mesquite Planning and Zoning Commission during a June 23 meeting that the company has outgrown its current 15,000-square-foot West Dallas location and seeks to increase its capacity with the addition of the Mesquite property. The company is currently making beer at a temporary space just south of downtown Dallas. It plans to maintain its West Dallas presence but shift the bulk of operations to Mesquite.
The Mesquite facility would house brewing operations, a taproom and warehouse and generate about 40 jobs. The more than $20 million investment would also include the restoration of Jane Street and accommodate food trucks or a restaurant.
