The driver slammed into a concrete pillar near Gulf Bank Road around 3 a.m. Monday, according to the Houston Police Department.
HOUSTON — A young driver died early Monday after crashing a Mercedes-Benz on the North Freeway, according to the Houston Police Department.
It happened on I-45, south of the Sam Houston Tollway in the Aldine area, just before 3 a.m.
The victim was heading southbound in a white Mercedes-Benz GLA with a Florida license plate.
He lost control and crashed into the concrete pillar with the Gulf Bank sign on it.
The 20-year-old driver was rushed to a Houston hospital, but he didn’t survive. His name hasn’t been released.
No one else was inside the Mercedes, and no other vehicles were involved, according to HPD.
The investigation is ongoing.
