Houston police say Marko Cinan fired 10 rounds into Anthony Sanders’ vehicle, killing him on June 3 during a dispute in the orange garage on Westheimer.
HOUSTON — A judge set a million-dollar bond Friday for the suspect arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of a Houston father earlier this month.
Anthony Sanders, 30, was shot multiple times in a Galleria parking garage on Westheimer on June 3. He was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital but didn’t survive.
According to court documents, Marko Cinan, 23, fired 10 rounds into the victim’s vehicle during a dispute in the orange garage.
“I do find that the nature of this offense warrants a high bond to ensure the safety of the community, noting this offense occurred at a public gathering at a mall,” the judge said after she denied the defense attorney’s request for a personal bond.
Cinan was arrested on Wednesday by HPD’s Narcotics Tactical Team.
On the day of the shooting, police said it may have stemmed from a road rage incident or other disturbance between people in two cars.
The shooting was overheard by officers who were working security nearby.
Officers saw a black Chrysler 300 with shattered windows leaving the area. It was located nearby and three people were detained and questioned but later released, HPD said.
No one else was hurt in the shooting.
Police interviewed witnesses and reviewed surveillance video before charging Cinan.
