The weekend of Aug. 16 will include a two-day celebration of the Mid-Cities Links anniversary and its service to the North Texas community.
DALLAS — The Mid-Cities (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was founded in 1985 by 25 women in North Texas.
Since then, the chapter has contributed more than 120,000 volunteer hours with a value of more than $3 million in community impact.
This year, the Mid-Cities Links are marking 40 years of service in the community with a two-day event; including a luncheon and their signature fundraiser.
Unboxed: A Sparkling Affair – Viva Las Vegas is a reimagined continuation of the legacy, “Black Tie Boxing” event. It will feature an immersive, high-energy atmosphere with a nightclub revue, silent auction and dazzling entertainment.

Members of the Mid-Cities Links have led initiatives like:
- Link-ED² STEM Camp – 100 students exposed to STEAM fields through hands-on summer learning.
- Dance for Life – A partnership with Dallas Black Dance Theatre, supporting 200 youth in the arts.
- Uganda Children’s Orphanage – $20,000 raised for global outreach.
- Prescription Assistance Fund – Helping seniors afford essential medication.
- COVID-19 Relief – $35,000+ in grants to local nonprofits and families in need.
In addition, more than $125,000 in college scholarships have been awarded by the Mid-Cities Links to North Texas students. The chapter also has a focus on supporting survivors of abuse, backed by nearly $20,000 in financial support and over 600 volunteer hours.
