A shootout in downtown Galveston leaves one dead and two injured, police confirm.
GALVESTON, Texas — Police are investigating a deadly early morning shooting that left one man dead and two others hospitalized in Galveston, authorities said.
According to the Galveston Police Department, officers responded around 2:50 a.m. Wednesday to reports of gunfire on Avenue E.
When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old man inside a vehicle, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A second victim, a 29-year-old man, was found with multiple gunshot wounds near the intersection of 25th Street and Avenue G, just a short distance away.
Police said a third person, a 25-year-old man, was later found in on Avenue H with non-gunshot-related injuries. Both surviving individuals were taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where they remain hospitalized as of this morning.

Galveston police said the investigation is ongoing and no further details are available at this time. Detectives are continuing to gather evidence and speak with witnesses.
