HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — Two children are dead after a boat capsized Sunday night on Cedar Creek in Henderson County.
Henderson County Game Warden Gregg Johnson said he received a call about the accident around 9 p.m. The boat, carrying several passengers, overturned in the water and the children were pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining passengers survived, Johnson said.
The children were 3 and 5 years old, Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said.
Emergency responders from multiple agencies, including the Tool Volunteer Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene. The Texas Rangers are now leading the investigation into the incident.
No further information, including the identities of those involved or the cause of the capsizing, has been released.
