According to a post on Facebook, the restaurant said they hope to reopen withing six to eight months.
HOUSTON — In May, a popular seafood restaurant along the Northwest Freeway was destroyed in a fire. On Friday, the restaurant posted an update about reopening.
According to a post on Captain Benny’s Facebook page, demolition of the charred structure will start next week and they could reopen before the end of the year.

“We hope to be open and serving the community and our long-time patrons within the next 6 to 8 months,” the post reads in part.
The restaurant at Highway 290 near 24th Street caught fire in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 24. Several crews from the Houston Fire Department responded to the restaurant that was fully engulfed in flames.
Fortunately, no one was hurt. As of now, we don’t know the cause of the fire.
