They described a “heartbreaking scene” at the property in South Houston.
Three horses, a cow, a calf, a bull, four sheep, three dogs, four rabbits, 16 chickens, and three pigs were emaciated and didn’t have access to clean water, the SPCA said.
Some of the animals were starving, with their ribs sticking out, and others were covered in feces and urine. They also suffered from mange and other skin conditions.
“This is a clear case of cruelty. Thanks to a concerned member of the public and our swift response, these animals are now safe and beginning their journey to recovery,” the SPCA posted on Facebook.
