Dallas, Texas shooting in Deep Ellum: One person killed, police say

The shooting happened at approximately 12:40 a.m. Friday, June 20, in the 2600 block of Main Street, according to Dallas police.

DALLAS — A person was shot and killed overnight in Deep Ellum, according to Dallas police. 

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said officers responded to a shooting call at approximately 12:40 a.m. Friday in the 2600 block of Main Street.

Officers found one person shot at the location and they were taken to a local hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue, where they died, DPD said.

The victim’s identity was not known as of Friday morning. What led up to the shooting was also unclear. 


The shooting early Friday came almost a week after a man was fatally shot in Deep Ellum last Sunday morning. Jose Rodriguez-Lucio, 32, was identified as the victim of the Sunday shooting, police said.
