SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN)– On Monday, the city of San Marcos issued a boil water notice due to a pump failure and loss of pressure.
Customers affected are in the areas of Quail Run, Lazy Lane, Oak, Maple, Mulberry, Mesquite, Hamilton Hollow, Knight and Day, according to a social media post from the city.
Customers in these areas will “need to boil water until further notice,” said the post.
The city emphasized that all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing hands/face, or making ice should be brought to a boil, boiled for at least two minutes and cooled before use.
The city said this is “especially important for children, seniors and individuals with weakened immune systems.”
Bottled water or another safe water source may be used, the post suggested.
The city will give an update once it receives satisfactory test results from the lab.
