San Antonio’s homegrown Birria Barrio restaurant chain is all about expansion, having launching not one, but two, additional location in recent weeks. The first, located near Lackland Airforce Base at 2403 Pinn Road, quietly began serving on Thursday, May 8, while a second opened Thursday, June 12, in Southtown at 1203 S. Alamo St. Opening two new locations in the span of a little over a month isn’t a feat many business owners would undertake, but it seems the birria biz has been booming. The chain, which started as a food truck, already operates popular locations at 2710 S. Presa St. and 6203 S. Flores St.
