Fort Worth, Texas: One killed in fatal shooting, police say

Police responded to a shooting call around 9:10 a.m. Sunday in the 3000 block of Forest Avenue, police said in a press release

FORT WORTH, Texas — One person was shot and killed on Sunday in Fort Worth, police said. 

Officers responded to a shooting around 9:31 a.m. Sunday in the 6500 block of Routt Street, Fort Worth police said in a press release. When police arrived, they located a victim in the backyard of a residence in the 3000 block of Forest Avenue with gunshot wounds to his upper body, the release states. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. 

Detectives found that the victim was in a verbal argument with an unknown suspect just before shots were fired, according to the release. 

Homicide detectives are investigating the incident, the release states. No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
