Man arrested for hitting, killing girlfriend in truck in W Harris County: HCSO

The sheriff’s office said the driver initially drove off after hitting the woman, but returned to the scene.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A woman is dead after she was hit by a pickup truck driven by her boyfriend in a west Harris County neighborhood Thursday night, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

This happened around 8:20 p.m. on Bethan Glen Lane in the Villages of Langham Creek Park neighborhood south of West Little York Road.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted on X that the two had gotten into an argument when the woman jumped out of the truck. He said the driver went off the road and onto a footpath, hitting the woman. He then reportedly drove off before returning to the scene.

When deputies arrived, they found the woman in critical condition. She was rushed to an area hospital where she later died.

When the man returned to the scene, HCSO said he was cooperative with investigators and showed signs of impairment.

The sheriff’s office said criminal charges are pending against the man.

HCSO has not identified the driver or the victim.
