North Texas man sentenced for trafficking 17-year-old

42-year-old Renald Antae Brown was sentenced to 262 months in federal prison, and must pay $25,000 to the victim.

DALLAS — A North Texas man was sentenced to over two decades in federal prison on Thursday for trafficking a 17-year-old, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas.

The release states that 42-year-old Renald Antae Brown, of Dallas, was sentenced to 262 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to sex trafficking a minor in January.

The case dates back to January 2023, when agents with the North Texas Trafficking Task Force received a lead from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) on a sex trafficking victim.

According to court documents, authorities found an advertisement for sexual services using photographs of a minor and organized an operation to rescue the girl. The release states that the girl was rescued at a hotel in the Dallas area.

The 17-year-old victim told authorities that she had met Brown after running away from the foster care system in November 2022, the release says. The girl told law enforcement that Brown offered her a place to stay but demanded that she perform sex acts for money and turn over the profits to him.

In plea documents, Brown admitted to managing the victim’s advertisements and coaching her on interacting with solicitors. Before this case, Brown was convicted of compelling prostitution, the release says.
