CHANNELVIEW, Texas — A body was reportedly pulled from a body of water in the Channelview area on Thursday.

It’s unclear if the incident was related to the extensive rainfall in Southeast Texas.

According to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, deputies responded to calls for service along De Zavalla Road near Carpenter’s Bayou. Although it’s unclear if the body was actually found in the bayou, investigators were seen parked along the bayou’s waters.

The person’s identity hasn’t been revealed, and the circumstances surrounding their death weren’t released, but Gonzalez said it appeared to be a man.

Gonzalez said an investigation is underway, and the Houston Police Department and Houston Fire Department helped at the scene.
