RICHMOND, Texas — Another undercover sex sting has landed an officer with the Texas Army National Guard in jail.
Detectives with Harris County Precinct One’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit arrested Lt. Jonathan Grant Beyleveld, 42, early Thursday. He was taken into custody at his home in Richmond.
According to Precinct One Constable Alan Rosen, Beyleveld was busted after he tried to have sex with a 15-year-old girl.
That “girl” was an undercover detective patrolling cyberspace to catch child predators.
Investigators say Beyleveld sent and requested sexually explicit photos as he tried to set up a meeting to have sex and drink alcohol, according to records. He repeatedly told the undercover detective that he wanted to meet on the first day of her summer vacation.
Beyleveld is charged with online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree.
Beyleveld is a lieutenant in the Guard and is licensed by the State of Texas as a private investigator and security guard. He has also worked at car dealerships in the Houston area.
“Let this be a warning to online predators: we will catch you; we will arrest you, and we will do all we can to stop you from preying on children,” Rosen said.

If convicted, he could get up to 10 years in prison.
Detectives ask anyone who has information about the defendant and his alleged sexual interactions with minors to contact the Harris County Constable Precinct One Internet Crimes Against Children Unit at 713-222-4929.
