Dallas, TX: 2 shot, 1 killed in Old East Dallas, police say

The shooting happened at approximately 1:45 a.m. Saturday, May 24 in the 4300 block of Roseland Avenue, Dallas police told WFAA.

DALLAS — Dallas police responded to an overnight shooting in late May in Old East Dallas where two people were shot and one of them died, according to DPD. 

The Dallas Police Department said the shooting happened at approximately 1:45 a.m. Saturday, May 24, in the 4300 block of Roseland Avenue. When officers got to the scene, they found two people had been shot. 

One of those shooting victims, 18-year-old DeeAnthony Renaze Armstead, died, DPD said, and the other person took themself to the hospital. The surviving victim’s condition was not known, DPD said. 

On June 11, Dallas police said it arrested 18-year-old Cody Jones in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with murder, police said.
