Two Dallas police officers on leave after alcohol-related arrests

The department has not released additional details about either arrest or potential disciplinary actions.

DALLAS — Two Dallas police officers are on administrative leave after being arrested in separate incidents involving alcohol-related offenses, according to a press release from the department.

On June 10, Officer Elijah Walker was arrested by the Euless Police Department for driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor, DPD said.

Walker joined the Dallas Police Department in March 2023 and is currently assigned to the Central Patrol Division. He has been placed on administrative leave while the department’s Internal Affairs Division conducts an investigation, the release states.

One day later, on June 11, Officer Jerrid Couch was arrested by Dallas police for public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor. Couch has been with the department since September 2023 and is assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division. Like Walker, he is also on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal investigation, DPD said.

The department has not released additional details about either arrest or potential disciplinary actions.
