23-year-old man dies in Arlington car crash

Police said two others suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

ARLINGTON, Texas — A 23-year-old Grand Prairie man was killed Tuesday morning in a car crash, police said. 

According to a news release from the Arlington Police Department, officers responded to the two-car crash at around 6:37 a.m. in the 2400 block of North Collins Street. 

Police said the crash involved a 2011 Mazda 3 and a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban. According to Arlington PD, the Mazda was traveling northbound when it crossed over into southbound traffic and crashed with the Suburban. 

Arlington PD said a passenger in the Mazda, a 23-year-old man, was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the Mazda and the passenger in the Suburban were also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Suburban was not taken to the hospital.

Following the crash, both northbound and southbound lanes of North Collins Street were closed for about three hours during the investigation. 

Arlington PD said no charges have been filed at this time, and the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the man killed at a later time.
