Chipotle releasing a ranch dip, marking the first new dip in five years

The Adobo Ranch will be available will be available in Chipotle’s burritos, bowls, salads, tacos and quesadillas.

WASHINGTON — Chipotle is spicing up its summer menu with a new dip.

The restaurant chain will roll out the new dip nationwide starting June 17, marking its first new dip addition since the introduction of Queso Blanco in 2020.

Adobo Ranch reimagines the classic dip with adobo pepper, sour cream and other herbs and spices, according to Chipotle. The move represents Chipotle’s attempt to capitalize on what the chain describes as a “cultural phenomenon” surrounding ranch dressing, particularly among younger consumers.

“Ranch has become a cultural phenomenon, especially among Gen Z, who are finding creative ways to enjoy it beyond the traditional salad,” Chris Brandt, president and chief brand officer, said in a press release. “Our new Adobo Ranch taps into this passion, giving fans a craveworthy way to customize their Chipotle order with a completely new flavor.”

The company is hoping to boost sales with the new addition, seeking a similar success to the queso blanco dip.

Chipotle says its rewards members in the U.S. and Canada will be able to try the new dip for free on June 17. The Adobo Ranch will be available will be available in Chipotle’s burritos, bowls, salads, tacos and quesadillas.

Customers have until 11 p.m. local time on June 16 to sign up for Chipotle’s rewards program to receive the free Adobo Ranch offer on launch day, according to the company.

The new menu addition comes after Chipotle reported weaker-than-expected earnings for the first quarter of the year. The company attributed the weak results to a decline in consumer spending. In late 2024, Chipotle announced plans to raise prices to offset inflation.
