Frisco, Texas: Stabbing reported outside Islamic Center of Frisco, officials say

Frisco police confirmed they responded to reports of a stabbing outside the Frisco Islamic Center, officials said.

FRISCO, Texas — An adult was stabbed outside of the Islamic Center of Frisco Saturday night, Frisco police confirmed. 

Officers responded around 10:57 p.m. Saturday to reports of an aggravated assault at the Islamic Center of Frisco located at 11137 Frisco Street, Frisco Police said in a press release. When police arrived, they found that an adult had been stabbed at the location.

Witnesses provided a description of the suspect and responding officers took the suspect into custody, the release states. The victim was taken to a hospital, police said. Officials did not immediately release information about the victim’s condition or the suspect’s identity. 

In a statement released Sunday, the Islamic Center of Frisco said the Masjid was closed due further notice due to a security issue. The center asked everyone to stay away from the site to ensure everyone’s safety and allow police to manage the area, the statement reads. 

“We will share updates as soon as more information becomes available,” the statement reads.
