NEW FLORENCE, Mo. — Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating after a person was found dead Wednesday night in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said in a Friday night update that the woman was a 36-year-old who had been reported missing from El Paso, Texas, on Feb. 5. Her name was not released.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, officers with the New Florence Police Department were dispatched at about 8 p.m. Tuesday to a 911 hang-up call on Booneslick Road. The officers were then directed to a vacant building in the 400 block of Booneslick Road, located right off of Interstate 70 at the Hermann exit, where two people reported finding a dead person inside.
The sheriff’s office was called in to assist in the investigation, and a body was found in the bay area of the building.
Investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control responded upon request and were leading the investigation, according to the sheriff’s office. The Montgomery County coroner was also assisting.
A forensic examination will be performed to determine her cause of death.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this very difficult time,” the sheriff’s office said.
