Throughout June, WFAA is accepting donations for the North Texas Food Bank and Tarrant Area Food Bank ahead of a day-long telethon on June 26
DALLAS — Editor’s note: The video above is from last year’s Nourish North Texas telethon. Join us this year on June 26 from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. to help feed more than 250,000 North Texas children.
WFAA, the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB), and Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) are once again joining forces for the 5th annual Nourish North Texas telethon, presented by H-E-B.
The goal of Nourish North Texas is to raise $350,000 to provide more than one million meals to North Texas families.
Food insecurity is a growing problem in DFW. In the 13 counties served by NTFB, more than 254,000 children – 1 in 5 – are at risk of hunger. The situation is especially dire during the summer months when those children do not have access to school meals.
The DFW metro area is third in the nation and number one in Texas among people facing hunger, NTFB reports.
How can you help?

Join us on June 26 for the 5th annual Nourish North Texas Telethon from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Volunteers will be standing by for more than 16 hours to take your donations over the phone.
Throughout the day, WFAA will feature awareness messaging each hour on-air to help break down the hunger crisis in North Texas.
