SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police claimed they “stand” with the LGBTQ+ area and will certainly host a discussion forum with Pride San Antonio following actor Jonathan Joss’ fatality.
While SAPD has not clearly labeled the shooting of Joss, who was honestly gay, as a hate crime, cops claimed individuals in the LGBTQ+ neighborhood might have inquiries or “feel especially frightened today.”
SAPD and Pride San Antonio will host a community forum at Woodlawn Pointe, located at 702 Donaldson Ave., at 6 p.m. on Thursday, four days after Joss was shot and eliminated at his South Side residential or commercial property.
SAPD welcomed members of the LGBTQ+ community to attend the discussion forum to voice concerns and obtain updates.
In a statement uploaded to social media, SAPD shared compassion to the household, friends and followers mourning the loss of Joss.
Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez is accused of shooting and eliminating Joss. He was detained Sunday and was launched from the Bexar Region jail on Wednesday mid-day after uploading bond.

Cops claimed homicide investigators are still checking out the objective behind Joss’ death.
“In Texas, despise criminal offenses are dealt with via penalty improvements rather than different costs,” SAPD stated. “This enables increased punishment when a criminal activity is motivated by predisposition or prejudice. We’re committed to building the best situation feasible for the Area Lawyer to prosecute.”
Previously this week, police claimed there was no evidence showing Joss was targeted due to his sexual preference.
TheTXLoop asked SAPD whether the discussion forum announcement suggested the instance was currently being examined as a hate criminal activity. SAPD speaker Sgt. Washington Moscoso clarified that the article was not suggested to imply a change in the standing of the investigation.

Rather, he claimed the division wishes to provide a space for the LGBTQ+ neighborhood to ask inquiries and share concerns.
Moscoso included that if proof later suggests the murder was motivated by a hate criminal activity, and if Alvarez is condemned and punished, he could receive a harsher sentence in the penalty phase.
