CRYSTAL CITY, Texas — A Crystal City lady was jailed for allegedly mistreating public funds for personal acquisitions, according to the Zavala County Sheriff’s Office.

Veronica Carranza Perales, 61, was arrested Tuesday for alleged credit card abuse, burglary of united state money and abuse of official capability including public funds from the Crystal City Housing Authority (CCHA).

Detectives performed a search warrant of Perales’ home and found physical and electronic evidence, including monetary documents and electronic devices, the constable’s office said.
