The feds say Fredrick Douglass Shelton left his 10 -month-old baby alone, surrounded by medicines and weapons, while he was dealing deadly fentanyl.
HOUSTON– A Houston male faces decades in federal jail for dealing fentanyl criticized for three overdose deaths.
United State Area Judge Kenneth M. Hoyt purchased Fredrick Douglass Shelton, 33, to serve 324 months– or 27 years– behind bars.
Shelton begged guilty to intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine and being an offender in possession of a weapon.
Court Hoyt mentioned that Shelton remained to sell extremely powerful fentanyl after the fatalities, also advising customers that the medicines were strong.
At the sentencing hearing, the court identified the family members of the targets that passed away.
Prosecutors also said Shelton left a child alone, bordered by guns and medications, while he was out dealing fentanyl. Police located large amounts of fentanyl, drug, methamphetamine and firearms scattered throughout Shelton’s house.
“The offender’s conduct in this instance clearly shows his utter disregard for human life and the security of others,” United State Lawyer Nicholas J. Ganjei stated. “Not only was his fentanyl trafficking connected to three overdose deaths, but he likewise left a 10 -month-old infant alone, bordered by guns and drugs (consisting of fentanyl), while he was out dealing.”
The FBI Houston Area Workplace and Medicine Enforcement Management explored Shelton with the help of the Montgomery Region Narcotics Enforcement Group and sheriff’s workplaces in Montgomery and Harris Counties.
