AUSTIN (KXAN)– Andrew Smith, who was a previous Texas Department of Public Security trooper and implicated of youngster sex abuse, has been sentenced to 14 years behind bars, according to a press release from Attorney General Ken Paxton. On May 1, he pleaded guilty to one count of indecency with a youngster.
In January 2021, a 14 -year-old sufferer reported Smith had committed “several acts of Lewdness with a Youngster by get in touch with,” the launch mentioned.
Per the launch, Smith was utilized as a state cannon fodder with DPS during the abuse and resigned after it was reported by the victim.
The target, who is now 18 -years-old, indicated at court and defined the various acts of youngster abuse committed by Smith when she was under the age of 14, claimed the launch.
