Witnesses describe moments before fatal northwest Austin shooting

AUSTIN (KXAN)– The target in a May 28 exacerbated attack died over a day later, leading Austin Authorities to upgrade its fee versus a man whom it accused of shooting.

Waleed Beriji, 27, was charged with one felony count of first-degree murder.

According to an APD arrest testimony, Beriji apparently drew a gun and shot Noah Talbott, 26, during a disturbance in the 7100 block of Timber Hollow Drive in Austin.

The affiant, an APD investigator, wrote that they and other policemans spoke with several eyewitnesses at the scene. They purportedly determined Beriji as the shooter, according to APD.

One of the witnesses informed APD the two males used medications previously that evening, which the disruption was over a financial debt owed by Talbott to Beriji. The debate lasted concerning an hour and a half, according to one more witness, when Talbott asked Beriji to leave.

The supposed standoff in between both males lasted” 20 – 30 secs” before Beriji apparently fired the pistol, according to APD. Talbott was struck in the head.
