The orchestra performed at New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center, joining only 20 groups chosen from 1,000 nationwide.
HOUSTON — A Houston-area youth orchestra landed on one of the most prestigious stages in jazz music earlier this month, performing at the legendary Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
The Jazz Houston Youth Orchestra, made up of students from high schools across the Houston area, was one of just 20 orchestras selected to attend out of a thousand groups nationwide. In addition to performing, the students also took part in master classes during the trip.
Congratulations are in order for the young musicians and their artistic director, Vincent Gardner, on this impressive achievement.
