HCSO: Parents find son shot to death outside home on Sonnet Glen Lane

The sheriff’s office said the man’s parents were in the home when they heard a gunshot outside. When they went to check it out, they found him with a gunshot wound.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — An investigation is underway after a 36-year-old man’s parents found him shot to death in the walkway leading up to their home early Saturday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting happened at a home on Sonnet Glen Lane, which is off Spencer Road east of Queenston Boulevard.

The sheriff’s office said the man’s parents were in the home when they heard a gunshot outside. When they went to check it out, they found the man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man lived at the home with his parents and several other family members.

HCSO said they’ve received reports of a red vehicle leaving the area right after the shooting. Investigators were working to gather any surveillance video and to talk to any potential witnesses in the area.

Investigators said they don’t yet know whether this was a targeted shooting.
