HPD: Chase ends when car crashes into home on Cotton Drive

​Police said a man was in his bed when the car crashed into the house. He was taken to a hospital where his condition was reportedly stable.

HOUSTON — A 25-year-old man is hurt after a police chase with a stolen vehicle ended with the car crashing into the man’s house early Saturday morning, Houston police said.

The chase happened around 2 a.m. and ended at a home on Cotton Drive, which is off of Bingle Road just south of the Northwest Freeway.

The Houston Police Department said the chase started when officers noticed a stolen vehicle they had been looking for. HPD said a brief chase happened before officers attempted an approved stopping technique to try and end the chase. That’s when the driver of the reportedly stolen vehicle lost control and crashed into a nearby home. The suspect ran off but officers were able to take him into custody.

No one else was hurt in the crash, according to HPD.
