A man drowned this weekend after he fell off a boat while docking and was unable to get to safety, officials said.
LEWISVILLE, Texas — A Lewisville man drowned Sunday after he fell off a boat while docking, officials said.
Texas Game Wardens responded around 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, to Eagle Point Marina at Lake Lewisville to reports of a water death, the Texas Game Wardens said in a press release.
Officials found that two brothers were attempting to dock their boat when 48-year-old Jeffery Poarch fell in the water and was unable to get back onto the boat or onto the dock, officials said.
The boat operator got Poarch to the shore, where bystanders administered CPR, the release states. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
“Our thoughts are with Mr. Poarch’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the release reads.
