Former US Attorney General Pam Bondi is undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer

News of her diagnosis comes as Bondi is set to join an advisory committee focused on AI policy.

WASHINGTON — Former Attorney General Pam Bondi shared that she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer following her departure from the Trump administration.

Bondi, who confirmed her diagnosis with CNN on Wednesday, said she is undergoing treatment and had surgery a few weeks ago. According to CNN, she is recovering and “doing well.”

Bondi was replaced by Todd Blanche, the acting attorney general, following Bondi’s firing from the Justice Department over the handling of the Epstein files.

Earlier on Wednesday, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller’s wife, Katie Miller, seemingly confirmed reports of Bondi’s cancer diagnosis, says she’s been beating cancer the last few weeks.

Axios, which was the first to report the news of Bondi’s diagnosis, reported Wednesday that President Donald Trump has appointed Bondi to an advisory committee focused on AI policy.
