WASHINGTON — AMC Theatres is offering movie lovers a chance to view classic movies from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
The movie chain announced it was launching its “Silver Screen” series, a monthly program offering seniors and cinephiles the chance to see classic films on the big screen for a discounted price.
The program will run through October at 25 AMC locations across the U.S.
AMC Theatres said it will be the first time the program will be extended beyond a single theatre.
“Silver Screen” movies will be shown at 1 p.m. local time to “provide a convenient daytime entertainment option for guests.”
“Seeing these timeless movies on the big screen brings a different level of energy and connection,” Ryan Wood, senior vice president and head film buyer of AMC Theatres, said in a news release. “We’re excited to make that experience more accessible for seniors with convenient showtimes and affordable pricing.”
AMC said the series follows the success of the pilot program, which debuted last year at AMC Fitchburg 18 in Wisconsin. The movie chain said the program was well received with local audiences and allows for the expanded rollout.
