DALLAS — Texas voters will go to the polls on May 26 for an important primary runoff election that will decide which candidates run in November’s general election.

WFAA will be streaming results and reaction beginning at 7 p.m. until our 10 p.m. newscast. Our news and political teams will be sharing updates from polling places, analyzing results live as they come in, and reacting to the biggest wins and losses. Viewers can catch it all on our streaming app.

The primary runoff election will determine who will represent their party in several close and contentious races for seats in the U.S. Senate, Congress and state legislature.

Starting at 7 p.m., WFAA senior political reporter Jason Whitely and Jason Wheeler will anchor our live coverage and lead WFAA’s political team and a roster of guest experts to parse through the vote counts as they’re revealed live.

Among the key races on the ballot this primary are races for one of Texas’ Senate seats, which sees incumbent John Cornyn facing Attorney General Ken Paxton. Both men have relentlessly attacked each other in television ads in the lead-up to Election Day, and last week, Paxton got a key endorsement from President Donald Trump.

Also on the ballot for many North Texans is the Congressional race between Julie Johnson and Colin Allred, who is seeking to get his seat back from Johnson after previously giving it up to run for Senate
