The tech billionaire remained in the Oval Office for over 30 minutes sporting a noticeable black eye before a reporter finally inquired about it.
WASHINGTON — As Elon Musk’s role as a special government employee came to an end, President Donald Trump hosted a farewell event for the billionaire on Friday at the White House.
The tech billionaire stood in the Oval Office for over 30 minutes with a prominent black eye before a journalist finally had the chance to ask him about it.
Musk jokingly remarked that he wasn’t “anywhere near France,” alluding to footage of President Macron being struck in the face by his wife.
He then explained that he was “just horsing around” with his 5-year-old son, named X, saying, “and I told him ‘go ahead and punch me in the face.’”
As it turns out, he mentioned, even a 5-year-old can deliver a black eye.

Trump began the Oval Office press event with Musk by sharing some kind words about the billionaire Tesla CEO.
“Today it’s about a man named Elon,” Trump stated.
He commended Musk’s “very great talents” and remarked that he had spearheaded “the most sweeping and consequential” measures to reduce the federal workforce and government size.
Trump added to Musk, “We’ll remember you” while announcing more reductions ahead.
However, Trump also expressed frustration at the lengthy process: “Sadly, it takes a long time.”
Musk donned a black baseball cap saying “DOGE” and initially responded with brief affirmations like “yeah” to Trump’s statements before engaging with reporters later.
