Authorities searching for male accused of assaulting Texas State trooper in New Braunfels

NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – Authorities are searching for a male accused of assaulting a Texas State trooper in New Braunfels, according to a press release.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office and New Braunfels Police Department have increased patrols in the area of South Walnut Street and Divine Way near New Braunfels Middle School while the search continues.

Officials said two males assaulted the trooper. The release did not specify whether the other male was taken into custody.

The male has long black hair and was last seen wearing all-black clothing. Authorities said the male may have a bloody face from being tased.

He may also be missing a shoe, though that detail has not been confirmed, officials said.

The alleged assault prompted a multi-agency response with heightened police presence in the surrounding neighborhood, officials said.

Authorities urge the public to avoid the immediate area if possible as the investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with any information about the male’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 immediately and not approach the individual.
