Investigators say four people were home at the time. No one was hurt.
HOUSTON — A man is in custody after police say he forced his way into a Montrose-area home and threatened the people inside, just days after meeting one of the residents on a dating site.
Officers were called to a home on West Alabama at Brandt Street at around 9 p.m. for a reported home invasion.
Investigators say the man broke into the home and began threatening the four people inside. All four were able to get out safely and told officers the suspect was still inside.
Police say he refused to come out or follow commands, so a K-9 unit and additional officers were brought in to help.
He was eventually taken into custody. Officers say he was unarmed, and no one was hurt.
According to investigators, the suspect had met one of the people who lives at the home through a dating site and showed up a few days later. It’s still unclear why he came back or what led up to the break-in.
The district attorney’s office has accepted charges, according to police.
