Ultimate dinner heist: Canadian officials catch fox stealing mouthful of hot dogs

The sly fox got away with the ultimate dinner heist.

WASHINGTON — A sly fox has been caught red-handed stealing a mouthful of hot dogs.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police said it received reports of a theft of “barbecue foods” on Monday, May 11, around dinner time.  The incident happened in Crowsnest Pass, Canada, a low mountain pass on the Alberta-British Columbia border.

The officials searched the area for what they described as a “suspect” with “red hair, short in stature and wearing a thick coat,” according to a Facebook post.

The agency said it located the wild fox as it was “trying to conceal the evidence,” attaching a photo of the fox with several hot dogs in its mouth. The RCMP said it declined to “press charges” after being outfoxed.

“That fox and her babies eating good tonight,” one user replied on Facebook.

“At the price of hotdogs now, that would almost be considered grand theft!,” another user commented.
