HOUSTON — A solar company is building a 500,000-square-foot solar module manufacturing facility in Houston.
SEG Solar, which has its headquarters and manufacturing base in Houston, will develop a 4-gigawatt facility with an investment of over $200 million that will create 800 new jobs.
Commercial operations at the facility are expected to begin in the third quarter.
SEG began manufacturing solar modules at its first Houston plant in early 2025 for Avangrid Inc.’s solar project in Oregon to support Meta Inc.’s data center projects in the region. That 250,000-square-foot Houston facility required an investment of $60 million and has a production capacity of 2 GW.
The Houston Business Journal has reached out for more information on the location of SEG’s facilities. The company lists its headquarters address as 10625 Telge Road in Houston.
“This new facility marks an important milestone for SEG,” Timothy Johnson, vice president of operations of SEG Solar, said in the news release.
