Student, bystander burned during altercation at North Crowley 9th Grade Campus, officials say

A student and a bystander were burned after another student poured hot water on them during an altercation, Crowley ISD officials said.

CROWLEY, Texas — Two students at the North Crowley 9th Grade Campus were burned Thursday in an altercation with another student, officials said. 

The incident occured on Thursday at the Crowley ISD campus, the district said in a press release. During a fight, one student poured hot water onto the other student, resulting in burns, the district said. Another student nearby was also hit with the water, the district said. 

Campus staff responded to the area and emergency services were called, the release states. The campus was briefly placed on a medical hold, meaning students were told to stay in their classrooms, while staff addressed the incident, officials said. 

The student who was primarily injured was not transported by ambulance and was taken to a doctor by their parents, the release states. 

The district is investigating the incident.
